Fentanyl Frontline: The Survival & Interdiction (Fentanyl Safety & Awareness)

Course Description: Given the lethal threat posed by even incidental exposure to fentanyl and other
synthetic opioids, this course provides essential, life-saving training for law enforcement, criminal analysts,
and community partners on the front lines of the narcotics crisis. This is not just a briefing; it is a hands-on
class where you will learn to identify specific hazards, apply current tactics to mitigate them, and master the
proper selection and wear of personal protective equipment. By also learning basic first aid for exposure,
you will be equipped with the critical knowledge and skills necessary to protect yourself and your team when
responding to any scene where these deadly substances may be present.

Fentanyl Overdose Awareness (Fentanyl Facts & First Aid)

Course Description: As the risk of encountering fentanyl becomes a daily reality, this essential course is
vital for law enforcement, criminal analysts, and community partners in the counter-narcotics mission. You
will gain a comprehensive understanding of what fentanyl is, its origins, how it's transmitted, and the specific
hazards it poses, equipping you to protect yourself and your team. Crucially, this training provides practical,
life-saving instruction on how to recognize an overdose and properly administer naloxone, empowering you
to effectively render aid and save lives in the most critical moments.

Performance Nutrition for Law Enforcement

Performance Nutrition for Law Enforcement (PNLE)

Course Description: PNLE will take you on a journey of education and self-discovery. The course will explain the basics of human nutrition, nutritional challenges most law enforcement officers face, the importance of nutrient dense food choices, mental reframing techniques, and ultimately, how to build an individualized and executable performance nutrition plan. LEO’s will walk away with a new sense of confidence and ownership over their nutritional choices.

Prevention Ethics

Course Description: The Prevention Ethics Course identifies the standards of conduct for relating to service recipients, sets professional goals with prevention ethics standards, and describes methods of decision making for ethical situations. Participants will be instructed on the potential for moral and ethical dilemmas they may face when working in the prevention field and how to address them based on current knowledge and practice in the field. This training is designed to assist practitioners in reducing the likelihood of substance misuse and promoting well-being among individuals, families, workplaces, schools, and communities.

Resilience Training

Course Description: Resilience Training (RT) teaches students 14 distinct skills that allow them to develop themselves and others in the six RT competency areas: Self-Awareness, Self-Regulation, Optimism, Mental Agility, Strengths of Character, and Connection. With these skills, students develop the ability to understand their own thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, as well as the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors of others. Students master skills to to use during high and low stress situations to strengthen relationships through communication strategies and learn how to praise effectively, respond constructively to positive experiences, as well as discuss and manage stressful activating events effectively.

Resilience Training Workshop

Course Description:The Resilience Training Workshops are a modular version of our larger three-day Resilience Training. Workshops can include any combination of the 14 Resilience skills that increase the use of six Competencies that have been found to increase overall resilience, performance, and optimal functioning of an individual. The Competencies are Self-awareness, Self-regulation, Optimism, Mental Agility, Strengths of Character, and Connection. Upon course completion, students will have tools that will increase their abilities to handle stressful situations efficiently, perform optimally and communicate more effectively. Contact the WRCTC to coordinate the length and number of skills desired to learn. The 14 skills are:

  • Session 2 - SPF: Assessment and Assessing Capacity
  • Session 3 - SPF: Building Capacity, Cultural Proficiency, and Planning
  • Session 4 - SPF: Implementation, Evaluation, and Sustainability / Bringing It All Together

Synthetic Opioid Responder Safety (Synthetic Opioid Awareness)

Course Description: This course is critical for law enforcement, criminal analysts, and community partners
who must safely and effectively operate in environments contaminated with synthetic opioids. You will gain
the fundamental knowledge to identify Fentanyl, its related substances, and chemical precursors, while
mastering current tactics to mitigate the extreme hazards of clandestine labs and milling operations. The
training covers vital planning considerations for your jurisdiction, including proper PPE selection, field
testing methods, and leveraging external resources, all culminating in a practical tabletop exercise that
solidifies your team's response to a realistic fentanyl lab scenario.

Synthetic Opioids: Beyond The Fentanyl Horizon (Synthetic Opioid Response)

Course Description: This vital course is designed for law enforcement, criminal analysts, and community
partners who must navigate the extreme dangers of the modern illegal drug market. You will gain
fundamental knowledge to identify not just Fentanyl, but also a broader spectrum of emerging synthetic
opioids including Upjohns, AH's, and W-series drugs. The curriculum provides current tactics, techniques,
and procedures to mitigate hazards during an incident and covers critical planning considerations for your
jurisdiction, including proper PPE selection, field testing methods, and how to leverage available local,
state, and federal resources, ensuring you are prepared to respond safely and effectively.
