Effective Writing for Narcotics Investigations

Course Description: Writing Narcotic Search Warrants is designed to educate students on the essential elements needed to write and obtain a search warrant while conducting criminal investigations. It will instruct students on how to compose an affidavit and improve their abilities and skills needed to write a clear, concise and factual basis for search warrants. The course will address requirements established by federal and/or state specific constitutional authorities in order to develop probable cause. Officers will be taught the principles of writing the affidavit and warrant rather than how to plug information into a blank spot in a template.
